Closing the BASE weekend, Daedelus aka Alfred Darlington, returns to Belfast for another of his legendary shows.
Alfred Darlington isn’t your average cookie-cutter musician. From how he looks (early Victorian Dandyism), to how he makes music, to how he expresses himself and views the world, his is a very individual, ‘bespoke’ outlook.
From 2003 when he tested out an early prototype of the Monome box. Daedelus has continued to use this revolutionary box, bringing much genuine ‘liveness’ to the sometimes static world of performed electronic/dance music.
“It’s a non-traditional electronic instrument,” Daedelus explains. “Basically it allows for massive improvisation”.
With albums like Exquisite Corpse, featuring the likes of TTC, Mike Ladd, MF Doom, Love To Make Music To, Denies the Days Demise and Live At the Low End Theory, Daedelus has confirmed his international reputation as one of the world’s most innovative DJs and producers.
